Red Ostrich Feather Fan, 1920s

Fans made of ostrich feathers dyed red. In the 1920s, the colors became more garish and bright. There was more experimentation – including with the shape of the fans. Fans from the 1920s are larger, less functional, and more decorative. Like this red fan we discovered in Paris. Sticks made of “false” tortoiseshell. Very, very rare to find in this color and in this condition. The decoration is not included.
